WHY ‘HEROES TO HEALTHCARE’?

Challenge:  On average, 11,000 ‘healthcare experienced veterans’ are separating from the military annually and facing significant challenges in finding meaningful employment in the healthcare industry. On the other hand, the healthcare industry is one of the fastest growing sectors with the highest demand for talent and facing many systemic challenges of its own. It’s time to turn these two sets of challenges into opportunity for both our veterans and the healthcare industry.
 

Opportunity:  With many years of veteran development and career placement experience, ImPowerQ Associates are proud leaders in launching the Heroes to Healthcare (H2H) initiative as part of the Veterans Integration Program (VIP).  H2H aims to provide healthcare heroes with a bridge to productive and meaningful careers while providing healthcare organization high quality talent addressing the talent challenge that exists in the healthcare industry.

 

 

WHAT IS ‘HEROES TO HEALTHCARE’?

Thanks to the support of key partners and leading healthcare companies, H2H is launching as a registered Apprenticeship Program approved and supported by The US Department of Labor. This model provides employment, while participants go through 2 years of on the job learning with the employers while also allowing subsidies for both veterans and employers to maximize success.

 

Earn while you learn: Participants will be expected to successfully complete a paid 2 year Apprenticeship Program consisting of initial 30 days of accelerated training with ImPowerQ in a blended online learning strategy and 23 months of on the job learning.

Certification: Upon successful completion of the first 30 days of accelerated learning, the participant will be eligible for certification by the American Academy of Practice Coders (AAPC) as a Certified Physician Practice Management (CPPM) professional. This credential positions participants to be well recognized as industry professionals that are equipped to take on key roles in healthcare organizations throughout the country as mid-level healthcare business leaders.

 

Fees: There are none associated with the H2H VIP.

Completion & Support: Participants will be measured and progressed based upon successful completion of all required learning, assignments, attendance, exams, team projects and successful demonstration of required competencies over the period of 2 years. An ImPowerQ mentor will support the participant in the first 90 days and a mentor from the employer will be assigned for the 23 months of on the job learning.
